Mike Modiz

Vice President, Operations

Mike Modiz is responsible for HMC’s Regional Care Centers. He ensures the nurse care managers and other health care professionals in these call centers have the industry’s leading training and technology to help our members achieve their own individual level of optimal health.

Prior to joining HMC in 2007, Mike Modiz was vice president of operations and strategic projects for McKesson Health Solutions, where he served in executive-level positions for more than a decade. There, he led the development of call center and field-based operations, the deployment of large projects and client launches, and new domestic and international business. Mike successfully managed teams across North America as well as Puerto Rico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Before his time with McKesson, Mike spent three years in Wisconsin working with the poor with disabilities as the first President and CEO of Independent Care, Inc., a company formed to deliver a research and demonstration project of the Health Care Financing Administration.

From 1987 to 1993, he served in several executive capacities with CareNetwork, Inc., which was subsequently acquired by Humana. He led CareNetwork’s day-to-day operations and helped take a start-up, managed care organization from No. 14 to No. 2 in its market – and in just two years.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and an executive Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin.
