Michael J Brase, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer & Vice President

Dr. Brase has been with Health Management Corporation as Chief Medical Officer since November 2008.

Dr. Brase has over 16 years of administrative experience in managed healthcare.  Prior to his current duties, Dr. Brase was the Medical Director of Behavioral Health at WellPoint for 10 years.  Dr. Brase was responsible for the clinical oversight of both the managed care and EAP operations; internally managed Behavioral Health business for The WellPoint Companies, Inc.; and direct supervision of the Quality Improvement Department.

Dr. Brase received his doctor of medicine from the University of California, San Diego in 1984.  His post-graduate training included an internship and residency in general psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Harbor UCLA Medical School in Torrance, California.  Dr. Brase is board certified in general and child and adolescent psychiatry, and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
