Elizabeth Wilson Smith

Staff Vice President, Planning and Business Development

Elizabeth Wilson Smith is the Staff Vice President, Planning and Business Development and is responsible for leading the development and execution of HMC’s strategic and business plans as well as ensuring consistent and effective management of corporate and strategic projects throughout the company. 

Elizabeth joined HMC in 1992 as chief financial officer.  During her tenure at HMC, she has also led the informatics area including client reporting and analytics and developed the team providing analytical and process support for operations. 

Elizabeth serves as HMC’s Privacy Official and leads the company’s privacy compliance efforts.

Prior to joining HMC, Elizabeth was with Ernst & Young where she served as a consultant for hospitals, physician groups and other ancillary providers in the areas of finance, business and strategic planning. 

Elizabeth holds a master’s of business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.S. in Psychology from Duke University.  She has published articles on the business aspects of medical technology.
